We did soap paintings yesterday. The first step was for the children to unwrap their bars of soap. Then they made a design on the paper using their soap. (See Kelton smelling his soap?) We then headed outside to paint with bingo bottles filled with liquid watercolor paint. The end result was that the soap lines could be seen after the paint was applied. Kind of like the white crayon on an Easter egg type of idea. By the way, look at the pictures of Eliott, do you see his right hand clenched tightly? He found a lightning bug shortly before we started to paint. He refused to let it get away from him the whole time. See the other picture of him checking to see if it's still there. Too funny! We cleaned up after painting and had a great time playing in the water. We got out all types of squirters and different water toys. I didn't get any pictures of that. The reason being that I was busy getting squirted with water and thought that I'd better get my camera put away in a dry spot. :)
That's my boy the bug collector!!
